Wee Can Too Art Edible Art Supply Review/Giveaway

P1040110

Welcome to Day 3 of Kangaroo Mama's Housewarming Party Giveaway Week! Happy April Fool's Day!!!  Today's theme of the giveaway is, It's No Joke...They ARE Edible!   I present to you: You've seen Wee Can Too Art Supply on this blog before and how much I love their products!  Remember when I first found them when Kiggster was 7 months old?! Notice how thick the paints get in that picture? That's how they're supposed to look following their instructions.  You can read more and see more pictures at Baby Picasso (bottom half of posting). Here we are several months later for our Christmas Countdown Activity: painting/coloring a Xmas picture with their art products!  I was being cheep-cheep (yup, my cheesy Easter reference) and diluted the paint powder so that I could get more use out of it.  You can see that the colors are still pretty bold despite my frugal mama efforts!  Although, now that she's older, I … [Read more...]

Birdsong Bows Hair Accessories Tutorials Review/Giveaway

KangarooMama Housewarming 200

Welcome to Day 2 of Kangaroo Mama's Housewarming Party Giveaway Week! Are you guys ready for what today's giveaway is?!  It's something that's frequented this blog in the past and you've seen pictures of the things I've made from their tutorials!  Birdsong Bows has awesome tutorials on...yes, bows but also other things like tutus, fabric flowers, totes, and much more!  They are constantly expanding their selection of tutorials so you will never run out of ideas for crafting!  Here's a message from Deanna at Birdsong Bows: I started Birdsong Bows in 2006 when my oldest daughter was set to start kindergarten. I looked for navy bows for her to wear with her school uniform, but the ones I found in stores looked "smashed" and unattractive. I decided to make them myself, and soon discovered that I really enjoyed making bows! I'm originally a journalist and enjoy writing, so in 2010 I combined my love of sewing/crafting and my … [Read more...]

FunBites Review & Giveaway

Heart shaped puzzle sandwich!

I was going to wait to do my giveaways starting this Friday for my week long giveaway but I thought, why not do a pre-party with something fun like a FunBites food cutter?! Welcome to the Pre-Party for Kangaroo Mama's Housewarming Party Giveaway Week! FunBites is a company that sells products to cut food into 12 smaller bite size pieces in fun shapes.  They currently have Cube-It, which cuts them into 12 small cube shapes and the Luv-It that cuts them into small 12 geometric shapes that piece together into a heart with 2 small hearts.  So here is my review of the Luv-It cutter I received: So I decided to try my cutter on an almond butter sprouted-bread sandwich!  You take the bottom piece with the handles and use that as your cutter.  The base of the cutter is curved so you rock the cutter back and forth on the food that you are cutting.  Then once you cut through to the bottom, take the top piece and that pushes out your cut pieces of food. Once it pushed out the … [Read more...]

Do I Love My Reflection?!

Bells Palsy-July 2009

Well, this year I think it's supposed to be a big year for me...at least that's what the magazines, media, and friends say.  I'm turning the big 3-0!  Should I be having a mid-life crisis?!  Reflecting on the last 30 years of my life?!  Getting a complete makeover?!  Going out and doing something totally wild and unlike me?!  Retreat to the mountains and "discover" who I really am?!  It actually makes me anxious thinking about turning 30, not so much because of the age or the number but other factors.  Media plays a big part, I feel like I should do something completely different, escaping from reality to "discover" myself seems cool or doing something crazy seems great too.  Makeover, who doesn't love a makeover?!  Thinking about the makeover part is what makes me anxious. Some of you may not know or have forgotten, but almost 3 years ago, I had something called Bell's Palsy.  I completely lost feeling and function on the left side of my face during an already stressful time in my … [Read more...]

Baby’s First Haircut…Disaster!

Before Haircut

Ok so as you've seen lately, Kiggster's hair has gotten really long and it's totally extended down to her nose!  So we've been thinking about how to trim them, should we go somewhere, should we do it ourselves, what type of scissors (paper, fabric, scrapbook pattern j/k), how much to trim, etc.  Then on Thursday night, right before we were going to give her a bath, we decided to try and sit her down on a stool for her very first haircut!  Well, let's just say she was a little antsy to play, run around and get her bath started.  So haircut mission aborted! Come Friday morning, Kiggster comes over to me with a book while I am in the bathroom so I read her book with her for a little bit.  While we were reading, Honey took that as his opportunity to be Kiggster's personal barber/stylist.  He grabs the scissors sitting nearby that had one broken handle and blunt blades and grabbed a chunk of her hair and tried to snipe it off!  *GASP*  Before I could even tell him it … [Read more...]

366 Project: Week 11

Week 11 collage

If you haven't already seen the post for Week 10's pictures, you can check them out here! Week 11: March 11-17 Day 71 (March 11): We were at church this morning (ok every Sunday morning) and we were in a new location that didn't accommodate all the kids so some of the older boys were hanging out in the sidelines of church.  We kept Kiggster out of her class because she had a little cough so we played it safe and didn't want her to get others sick.  Well, lets just say Kiggster had a good time chillin' out with the boys!  She totally loves hanging out with the boys.  She was ok for a little bit with the books and snacks that we brought for her but then as the boys huddle together with all their PSPs, she decided that was much more exciting.  What was really cute was that they totally let her chill with them and let her sit next to them as they compared their PSPs and watched each other play.  One of the boys even took the trash she was holding in her hand and helped her throw it … [Read more...]

The New Kangaroo Mama Is Live!!!

Can you guys believe how nice, streamlined, and easy on the eyes the new design is?!  I also love having my own web address and not that long cumbersome Blogger address anymore!  What do you guys think?!  I took some screen shots of the old website and the new one so we can see side-by-side how they looked!                 Then here is the bottom, comments section:                     What do you guys think?!  Please let me know your honest opinions.  There is still much to be done as I learn how to use this new and improved site but hopefully I can get the hang of it soon!  Although just like any perfect idea, there will always be bumps in the road...those of you who left me comments in the last couple days, those comments were lost in the transfer and stuck somewhere in cyberspace!  I am truly sorry if it seems like I'm not … [Read more...]

Saving a Baby Hummingbird

hummingbird

So last Friday morning, Honey walks in through the front door after his morning prayer walk holding something in his hands.  He usually picks some flowers on his walk and brings it back for Kiggster and I so we weren't surprised he was holding something.  I said, "What did Daddy bring back for us?!"  He said, "A baby bird!"  Haha...right?! No, he was quite serious!  He brought it back in a little leaf.  Apparently on his walk, he was crossing the street (major intersection) and saw the birdie in the middle of the street so he had to save it before 1) it got ran over by some reckless driver 2) eaten by some wild animal.  There wasn't a tree above so it didn't fall out of the nest but he wasn't sure what could have happened but it seemed distressed.  When he brought it home, Kiggster was so curious about it and wanted to touch this little birdie that was flapping it's wings furiously but not making much progress. Honey decided it needed a "nest" so he took one of our crystal … [Read more...]
