366 Project: Week 1

Remember the 366 project I talked about here in my goals?  I got the idea from one of my favorite blogs, Photo Book Girl, who is is inspiring others to do the 365/366 movement!  I kinda started the project a little late so I don’t have a picture for everyday of the first week but I think 5 of the 7 days is still pretty good.  I thought this would be a good project for me to remember all the little things in my day-to-day life.  To be appreciative of what I’m surrounded with and serve as a documentary in a way for the year.  Honey also wanted to participate as a joint effort only because a lot of times I don’t have a camera with me at work and I don’t just want night time photos for the whole year.  So this will be a joint effort between the two of us!  I said, “But they’re not my photos if you took them.”  He said, “I’m letting you use my photos, it’s ok!”  He’s so awesome, what would I do without such a supportive husband?!

Day 1:

That was our New Year’s Eve celebration with the Dunphys doing our East Coast countdown.  So we technically took it at 9ish pm PST but hey, it was already the 1st on the East Coast!  Kiggster was moving too much and her little top hat kept falling off!  Recognize Bella’s party hat?  It was Rayne’s bday hat but we needed something festive for Bella too.

Day 2:

This was Kiggster “rock climbing” at Point Lobos State park.  She had so much fun running around the rock formations (with Honey’s supervision of course) and grabbing pebbles/shells and watching them fall out of her hand.  She is so into textures.  Can you see how dirty her jacket and pants are?!  At the end of the day, she looked like a big dirt ball!

Day 3/4:
Unfortunately, these were 2 days that neither Honey or I had pictures for! =(

Day 5:

She loves climbing up, with assistance, on her rocking chair and scooting her butt back and forth to “rock” the chair.  This night she wanted to read a book and have teddy with her!  Thanks Jenny for Teddy, she loves him!  She turned over to give Teddy a kiss after we put him on the chair with her!

Day 6:

Honey and Kiggster came to visit me at work this week and brought me these beautiful flowers.  Don’t you love the “vase?!”  I couldn’t find anything else but a retired coffee carafe so I repurposed it!  They also brought me some soup because I had been hacking’ up a lung all night and just couldn’t sleep.  These flowers definitely had the right “healing” powers.  They provided me motivation for a stressful week and a sick & not-well-rested mama!  I’m so spoiled!

Day 7:

This was Kiggster’s first swim of the year!  Honey and her looked like they were enjoying the water.  She’s still cold in the 82 degree pool but it seems she needs less “warm-up” time than in the past.  She smiles some and plays a little more in the pool even though she’s cold.  Though, she still sometimes looks like she wants to fall asleep when they’re idle in the pool.

Well, that was Week 1 of my 366 project.  How’s that for a recap of the week?!  The 366 project is one of many that I want to work on.  I still have to finish my photo books from my dating years, engagement, etc.  I have a lot of work cut out for me but at least I got through Week 1 of my 366!  Woohoo!  Do you have any projects lined up for 2012?

Thanks Jody for stopping by! That's exactly what I wanted to do with my family to to have memories to look back on and when my husband and I get too old to have good memory, we would still have tools to help us remember and for our kids to reflect on the fun we had! I will probably have them printed into a photo book at the end of the year.

  2. That's such a neat idea. And a great photo journal to share with your daughter when she's older. My kids (and I) can spend hours going through the photos on our computer, some as far back as 6-7 years ago.
