Bella Tunno: Laminated Art Play Smock & Designer Diner Review and Giveaway

Ever wonder how to keep you child from running amuck in a restaurant without making them feel like a prisoner?  Ever feel like all you do is laundry but somehow you still end up with clothes that are still stained?!  That's where Bella Tunno comes in and rescues us!

Bella Tunno is a baby and children's NECCESSORY (necessary accessory) company dedicated to the balance of fashion, function and philanthropy.  Trend-setting tots can now flaunt funky and fun baby basics.   Bella Tunno is committed to donating a portion of EVERY sale to the Matt Tunno MAKE A DIFFERENCE FUND. The main focus of Bella Tunno's charitable efforts is drug and alcohol-related education, prevention and rehabilitation programs.

I was fortunate enough (ok, Kiggster was too) to be able to review the Laminated Art Play Smock and the Designer Diners!  I couldn't wait to get these in the mail and start using them.  Some of you who are familiar with this blog may know that Honey and I have a hard time keeping Kiggster in her seat when we go out to eat.  It doesn't matter if she's in a high chair all strapped in and tightened, booster seat, a high chair seat we brought or some other contraption but she is a little Houdini and can get out of just about anything!  So Honey and I usually just take turns eating so one of us can chase after her, take her on a walk, or hold her.  We are constantly trying to add "tricks" to our bags to see if something can keep Kiggster in her seat for just a little bit longer!

The Designer Diner is a what Bella Tunno calls the "portable imagination station for little artists that doubles as a traveling mat for little eaters."  It comes with a 12 piece box of non-toxic chalk that comes in a super cute and detachable chalk pouch.  When the mat is rolled up, it's 4" x 11" and when it's laid out, it's 9" x 11" and is Phthalate free!  It has a funky printed wipe-clean surface that can be used as a placemat and the other side is a reusable chalk mat!  When you're done at the restaurant, on the plane or just anytime you want some chalk time or snack time, you roll it up and tie it up with the cute little attached ribbon!

As you can see, Kiggster is having fun with her friend, Jenda at our restaurant outing and it definitely helped keep them pre-occupied longer than if we hadn't brought it with us!  I did switch out the non-toxic chalks that were included with some edible chalks I had at home so that it was safer during meal times in case they grabbed food during meal/chalk time.

"Go ahead, let them try to get dirty…our playsmocks have them covered!"  That's the Bella Tunno tagline behind the play smocks, so that's exactly what I did with Kiggster and put that to the test!  The smock has 2 large pockets in the front to hold any messes.   All you do is just wipe it clean and there's no mess left over after they play, no extra laundry, etc.  It is 13" x 20" and has an adjustable fit and is also Phthalate free! All you do is tie up the top ribbon behind the neck and tie up the bottom ribbon at the waist.  Since Kiggster is on the younger and shorter side, I tied it up all the way so she wouldn't trip on herself when she walked but it fit nicely and actually covered all of her-except her arms.

We put the art smock on her during our Kelly Kits art time and Kiggster not only looked so super duper cute, but she was also well protected in her smock.  She painted in it, played in it, and then even relaxed in her lawn chair in it after a hard day's work!  A toddler's job is hard with all that activity!  I almost didn't want to take it off her when we had snack time just to keep her clean but I wanted to wipe off some of the paint that had gotten on the smock.  Happy to announce, the smock cleaned off really well with a wet towel…but Kiggster on the other hand got her shirt more dirty eating than from painting!
