Welcome to Day 1 of Kangaroo Mama’s Housewarming Party Giveaway Week!
I had the opportunity to do a review for a fellow bloggy friend and her new business, Blessings Unlimited With Kat. Blessings Unlimited With Kat is a Christian based company selling items that have been infused with Scriptures and items to help in your faith. There is something for everyone: men, women, children, home decor, tableware, books, cards and more. I chose the God Loves You baby board book and the My Promise Journal for review.
Up first is the baby board book. Here’s the description on the website:
Each of the 16 pages has a Bible verse with a promise from God. On the last page there is a pocket to hold a photo of your little one. Removable cloth cover is hand washable. Measures 8″×6″.
The description didn’t tell me enough about the contents of the book or how the pictures looked like but I did what most say you shouldn’t do, I judged a book by it’s cover! The cover looked cute enough so I trusted that the content inside the book would be just as cute.
Then when I peeked inside, it did not disappoint!
Remember the description said the last page also holds a picture of our little ones? Well, for some reason, I could find any printed photos, I know I have some but since going digital, I haven’t really printed many pictures, I just load them all on my computer and hard drives instead…and this blog! So I took our Christmas card and stuck it in there! It’s actually a plastic film that is open on the top and botton that spans across the length of the page, allowing you to slip in your photo…or Xmas card for display!
The nice thing about this book is that when I gave it to Kiggster to “read,” she was eating something and had dirty little fingers. Well, the cover of the book is washable (not machine washable, just hand washable) so I don’t have to worry too much. I have to say, I love the book! The board book (Item # 80032) retails for $18.
The second item I received for review was the My Promise Journal in deep plum. Here is the description on their website:
We have updated one of our favorite journals in a shade of deep plum. Asking, Blessing, Comfort, Deliverance, Eternal Life, Faith, Grace, Hope, Intercession, Joy, Kindness, Love, Mercy, Newness, Obedience, Power, Quickened, Rest, Serving, Trust, Understanding, Virtue, Wisdom, Excellence, Yielding, and Zeal. This beautiful fuchsia journal has tabbed sections for 26 different topics—one for each letter of the alphabet—that point to Bible verses of God’s promises. Roy Lessin, DaySpring co-founder, has prayerfully compiled Scriptures that pertain to each subject. When you need to find comfort, express joy, or share His kindness, just look for the tab and find the Bible verses for each situation. Strap-closure, 156 lined pages. Measures 3¾”×7″.
I also judged it by it’s cover since I couldn’t tell exactly how it looked like inside. I actually was expecting it to be different than what I received. I was thinking it was more like a concordance filled with scriptures on each topic with little areas to write in but it is actually more of a journal (just like the name implies). I love the plum color, it’s beautiful and compact, love the little rubber band closure, and the texture of the journal cover.
Inside the journal, you will find the tabbed sections noted in the description and on the cover page of each tab, there are ~10 scriptures related to that topic. The scriptures are in the NKJV (New King James Version) which isn’t usually my Bible version of choice (I personally love NLT) but the scriptures are still wonderful to read, no matter the version. Then starting behind every tabbed section is where the lined journal begins.
Things that I do wish were different about the book is maybe having more space dedicated to the scriptures and for the lines to be wider. I write too big and messy to fit into the lines, they are on the narrower side. But besides those two things, I really like the journal and it would make a very nice gift for someone! The promise journal (Item # 84621) retails for $24.
