FunBites Review & Giveaway

I was going to wait to do my giveaways starting this Friday for my week long giveaway but I thought, why not do a pre-party with something fun like a FunBites food cutter?!

Welcome to the Pre-Party for Kangaroo Mama’s Housewarming Party Giveaway Week!

FunBites is a company that sells products to cut food into 12 smaller bite size pieces in fun shapes.  They currently have Cube-It, which cuts them into 12 small cube shapes and the Luv-It that cuts them into small 12 geometric shapes that piece together into a heart with 2 small hearts.  So here is my review of the Luv-It cutter I received:

FunBites Luv-It

2 piece heart-shaped cutter

So I decided to try my cutter on an almond butter sprouted-bread sandwich!  You take the bottom piece with the handles and use that as your cutter.  The base of the cutter is curved so you rock the cutter back and forth on the food that you are cutting.  Then once you cut through to the bottom, take the top piece and that pushes out your cut pieces of food.

Sandwich pieces cut and pushed through

Once it pushed out the cut pieces, this is what it looked like on my plate:

Puzzle Time!

Once I put the pieces back together and took the crust from the cutter, this is what I ended up with:

Is that a butterfly crust?!

So I had made this sandwich the morning of Honey’s birthday and presented him my heart!  Remember my heart shaped items that I made for him in the past?!  My pizza and rice balls?!  Since those items were hand molded and kneaded to a heart-shaped I assumed Honey just didn’t see the hearts as clearly but with a heart shaped cutter, he is sure to see the heart right?!  Tell me when you look at the picture below, you don’t see the heart (the big puzzle one)!  He said, “Oh, it’s a turtle shell!” WHAT?!  Now I just think he’s messin’ with me.  Well, Kiggster loved holding the 2 little hearts on top and eating them.  She stole our hearts with her arrival so it seems fitting that she would steal those 2 little sandwich ones too!

FunBites cutters are dishwasher safe (top rack) but since I don’t run my dishwasher daily, I decided to hand wash instead so food doesn’t get caked on.  Luckily none of the almond butter got stuck in the small crevices and the nut butter came off pretty easily.  I did hear from others that they had to use a small bottle brush to clean the smaller areas but I didn’t have that same problem after using it.

Well, now you have a chance to win a FunBites Luv-It food cutter for yourself!  You can enter below through Rafflecopter and the giveaway will end Saturday, March 31st at 12:01AM EST or if you can’t wait, you can purchase through their website right now and get free shipping.  The cutters retail for $12.99 each (either the Luv-it, which is the one in this review or Cube-it, which makes square shapes) or you can get both for $19.99.  Use the coupon code MarchMadness at www.funbites.com for free shipping:
