Healthy Veggie-Loaded Savory Popcorn Recipe

So if you've been around this blog for awhile, you'll know that Kiggster looooves popcorn!  Actually, some would say she's obsessed with popcorn and can down a whole bag all by herself.  Because of that, I wanted to try to find a way to healthify her popcorn diet without her really discovering that I was doing it!  I've been making Kiggster popcorn with some plain bagged popcorn I bought for awhile now but I was only using butter, salt, paprika and tumeric.  I recently was introduced to Miessence's DeepGreen Superfood which is made with 100% vegan, raw, and certified organic ingredients.  One teaspoon of this freeze-dried powder is equivalent to 60ml of fresh green juices and that was perfect for our family.  So it dawned on me this week that I could totally use this powder to  make Kiggster some popcorn and so that's what I tried today!  Kiggster was all over the popcorn that I made with no hesitation about the DeepGreen powder that I used.  So I present to you the recipe for a super healthy veggie-loaded savory popcorn:

  • 1 package of popcorn
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Miessence DeepGreen Superfood powder
  • Season Salt to taste
  • 3 teaspoons of butter, melted

Heat up the popcorn according to the directions on the package.  Then pour the popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl that leaves enough room to mix everything.  Pour the butter over and evenly coat all the popcorn before mixing in the season salt and DeepGreen powder.  Lastly…ENJOY!

Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did, all while getting tons of nutrients in this little snack!  You can read my review of the Miessence DeepGreen Superfood powder here.

  1. Aww she is so cute. Thanks for the awesome recipe! I just wanted to tell you because I am concern to be careful about using non organic corn products because they contain GMOs just incase you didnt know. I was brought aware of this recently and now I am only feeding my baby all organic. Hope you dont get offended just warning you.

    • Hi Stephanie, Thank you so much for checking out my blog and recipe! Thank you for caring enough to tell me about the GMOs which is actually why I also do what I can to buy organic products for my family. I can’t say I have completely switched everything to organic but I do stick to organic especially when it comes to things like milk, eggs, corn products, fresh produce, etc. If you noticed in my picture with the ingredients I used, everything in there is organic, including the popcorn which is from Newman’s Own Organic line of organic products (the butter may not be only because I had to borrow that). You should check out the NOO line some time, I actually have a posting on their products here if you are interested in checking them out: http://kangaroomama.com/newmans-own-organics-review-giveaway/

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the recipe. Good luck on your organic journey, we love hitting up our local farmer’s market and it helps us to get not only organic but buy local and fresh produce for our family.
