Little Partners: Learning Tower & Art Easel Review & Giveaway

Ever wonder how you can get your kids more involved in your day-to-day activities without sacrificing time from those activities (insert laundry, dishes, cooking, baking, crafting, etc)?!  I was getting pretty good at doing everything one handed while holding Kiggster until carpal tunnel hit me and then I needed an alternative. Thankfully, I found Little Partners' Learning Tower and was able to do a review of their Learning Tower and Art Easel in Pink.

So a little background about why we sought out for a Learning Tower in the first place: I was working a full time job previously while Honey worked 2 jobs and was in graduate school full-time.  We had someone watching Kiggster during the daytimes and when Honey and I came home from work/school, we were scrambling to get dinner on the table.  We barely had time together as a family before bath and bedtimes occurred.  Kiggster always wanted to be in the kitchen with us, want us to carry her so she could watch us cook but then I developed carpal tunnel so carrying her while cooking became a huge and painful challenge.  I would end up turning on the TV and "keeping her occupied" while we cooked.  It saddened me that she couldn't spend time cooking with us in the kitchen even for the few short hours we could have together each evening.  So I decided to do some research to see if there was anything that could help us still have more time together as a family, but didn't involve me doing everything one-handed.  I also didn't trust having a chair keep her safely at counter height since she was only 18 months at the time and not exactly a stand-still type of girl.  Step stools were too low and only had the top of her head hitting counter height.  I wanted something safe, sturdy, and multi-functional.  So when I saw the Little Partner's line, I knew it was something that every family should have.

Here are some one-handed meals I've made while holding Kiggster at my hips, along with my post-carpal tunnel "set-up" pre-Learning Tower:

So now onto Little Partners and why they created the Learning Tower:

For children, the world is a magical and curious place. They learn by mirroring Mommy and Daddy with the ultimate goal of being able "to do it myself" and feel like an active member of the family. That's why Little Partners has created the Learning Tower.  The Learning Tower has been carefully designed to provide a secure environment for a child's imagination to be stimulated and blossom. Its design nurtures a child's innate desire to be independent, and to participate alongside his or her parents and siblings.

We moved to a new home at the same time the Learning Tower arrived and so I put it together at our new place all by myself, even Kiggster tried to help!  If you know me, you know I am not a handy-woman but it came with everything I needed to put it together.   All the screws and even the tool for screwing everything together came with the Learning Tower.  The Art Easel did need a screwdriver but that was also really easy assembly.  The moment the Learning Tower was assembled, Kiggster climbed right in and was jumping up and down on the platform!  I have the platform at the very top setting since she is not that tall and it makes it the perfect counter height.

We have already used the Learning Tower for snack time, teeth brushing, hand washing, art time, play dates, and more!  Kiggster just loves climbing into the tower and hanging out in there, she even enjoys bringing her doll and bear in the the tower with her and playing with them in there!

The Learning Tower is tested for up to 500 pounds, so you are definitely safe even having 2 toddlers use it at the same time (See Picture A below)…and yes, I sat in it too and it's still in one piece! In Picture B, you can see that the art easel comes with a magnetic strip to hold your art work in place while you draw, paint, or color.  It also comes with 2 openings on the tray for holding paint cups, however, I used paper cups instead that fit perfectly in there so it can hold Kiggster's crayons and chalks. In Picture C, that's a photo of Kiggster and I's chalk drawings, actually it's me drawing and helping her learn and recognize objects in both English and Cantonese, but she finds it fun to have art time and learning time at the same time!  Pictures D & E are of Kiggster drawing while Daddy is working in the office.  I love that we don't have to sacrifice time together just now just because we have to work, cook, or do chores around the house.  The art easel is actually 2-sided, chalkboard and wipe board, but since I don't have any dry erase markers at home, I haven't used the wipe board side yet.  The wipe board side is also magnetic so you can use the magnetic strip on both sides.  The art easel mounts onto the learning tower easily and switches easily too.  It also comes with an optional wall mount so if you didn't want to have it on the Learning Tower, you could also hang it on the wall.

It is constructed from the highest quality layered birch and has 4-sided railings to keep children safe from falling when they are inside, plus it acts as a support when they are climbing in.  The platform is easily adjustable to their growing heights and grows with them from 18 months to 6 years, adjusting from 12" to 19 1/2" from the floor!  The platform is 15" x 18" wide so it's a nice size surface.  The tower assembled is 23" x 32.25" x 38" and weighs 35 pounds.  Because the Learning Tower is so heavy (not including the Art Easel), it does make moving it from one room to another a bit more difficult.  I would have liked to see maybe small lockable wheels at the bottom of the tower so that it allows for easy relocation or maybe I just need to get a Learning Tower for each space in the house!  You can also remove the platform and kids can play right inside of the Learning Tower as if it were a fort.  Little Partners actually envisioned this tower to be an imagination station and they've rolled out their new line of Playhouse Kits which just slips right over the Learning Tower and kids can role play, where the sky is the limit!

The Learning Tower products are great, which allow your young ones to interact with you in preparing dinner, etc. It also teaches them at an early age, responsibility and "clean-up" come with the fun.

I LOVE this! I actually have one. I got it at a used furniture store for a great price and I was so excited and I have used it a ton, My 2 year old loves it and the kids I care for are starting to be old enough to use it too. I would recommend this to EVERYBODY that has small children. I only wish I had it (maybe 2 of them) when my twins were younger.

I learned that two toddlers can stand on the learning tower at the same time.

  12. I learned that not only do they encourage using the Learning Tower in the kitchen, but they have a supercute recipe booklet with kid-friendly recipes like Lemonade Scones, Nutty Banana Pops, Puffy Popovers and No Bake Chocolate Drops! I agree, it would be great if the Tower had wheels…at least 2 maybe, like a wheelbarrow, so it can be rolled but is stable when stationary. It would be fun to be able to roll it outside so the little ones can help at the gardening bench in Spring. Thanks!
