Mabel’s Labels: Preschool Shoe Labels & Write Away Labels Review

Ever find it hard to get your child to put on their shoes on the right foot?  What about labeling all your items whenever you want and with whatever caption you'd like? I was fortunate to be able to do a review of Mabel's Labels' Preschool Shoe Labels and Write Away Labels.  Below is the story behind Mabel's Labels:

We are moms who were frustrated by the amount of stuff that left our houses, never to return. After lots of research and testing we created the perfect labels for the stuff kids lose.  Our sticky labels and clothing labels are dishwasher, microwave and laundry safe, and customized with a child’s name, choice of colours and icon. We also offer child safety products and household labels.

The labels came in the cutest little box wrapped up all nicely in tissue paper.  I loved the presentation, made me excited to get labels for my daughter! For the shoe labels, the set we received were the butterfly ones with Kiggster's name on them and they split the butterfly in half so half would go on the left shoe and half would go on the right shoe.  However, both side of the label had her full name so if you were ever missing a pair, hopefully whoever found it could still return it to you!  The labels were really cute and well made with a super adhesive backing.  I put them on her sandals and the labels are staying pretty well.  I actually think if I were to want to use the shoes for another child (though Kiggster is so rough with her shoes that might not happen) that I would have a hard time taking off the labels!  She loved seeing the butterfly labels on her shoes!    Hopefully soon she can start recognizing how to put together the butterfly label to put on her shoes on the right feet!  These Preschool Shoe Labels are waterproof and UV resistent.

Then I also received the Write Away labels and we receive the set with the girl designs.  The directions were a little confusing for me at first because it tells you to:

  1. Lift the overlay and write your name (or whatever you like) using a permanent marker
  2. Remove white backer and press overlay down, smoothing out bubbles before sealing all edges
  3. Peel the finished label from sheet and apply to a clean, dry, smooth (non-ridged, non-textured) surface

I did it wrong and wrote on the top of the overlay but that was not correct.  So I started with a new one.  So there are 2 layers to each label.  I wrote on the 2nd layer below the film overlay my message, then peeled the paper backing behind the film, then pressed the 2 layers together.  Tada!!!  It worked and now, the label can be washed and the message won't come off!  I packed Honey's lunch and put a label on it that said I Love You!  Just the week before, someone had accidentally taken the lid to his tupperware since there were several of them with the exact same tupperware boxes.  Now with my special label for his Love Lunch Box, hopefully no one will accidentally take his lids and mistaken it for their own!  Honey was super surprised and loved his lunch box message too!  I love that they are write-your-own-message on the labels so that you can put not just names, but also phone numbers, special messages, allergy warnings, etc.  The labels are self-laminating, dishwasher and microwave safe and work with any type of permanent marker.

You can purchase your own labels directly from Mabel's Labels website.  The Preschool Shoe Labels are $21 for a pack of 12 sets (24 labels) and you get to choose from 5 multi-colored designs.  The Write Away Labels are $12 for a pack of 30 labels and they also come with 2 design choices.  You can also find Mabel's Labels on Facebook and Twitter.
