Speckled Easter Egg Inspired Nail Design & Kiggster’s First Nail Painting

Speckled Easter Egg Inspired Nails

I decided this spring to try something new for my nails and paint some designs on it.  I love spring colors and I had recently bought some new colors that I've actually never worn before.  I'm usually pretty boring and wear light pink colors on my fingers brighter pinks and reds on my toes  and paint some flowers but this time, I really wanted to do something different.  I wanted to do a polka dotted, speckled egg type of design with purple, coral, white, and sea foam green.  It did take more time to paint but I liked how the results turned out.  The coral color was more sheer and so didn't show up on the purple but still looked nice though.  What do you think of them?

Well, Kiggster liked it so much that when she woke up the next morning (I painted it in the middle of the night), she automatically said, "Mommy painting, I want painting!"  So I let her pick between all the light pink and nude colors and she picked a pretty nice light pink.  I had wanted to wait a little longer before painting Kiggster's nails but seeing her so excited, I caved in.  I felt better about using my Zoya polishes anyways than the usual polishes since they are a 5 free polish, which means they have no Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor.  Although, I am still hoping to find another polish that will be even better for a toddler.  I've heard about Piggy Paints but I'm sure there might be some out there that are even safer so if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to share them!  I actually tried to do a little flower design on Kiggster's hand but she ended up wanting to paint her own nails so all I got to paint was one hand and 1 abstract flower design.  Then she took over the nail brush and started painting her other hand all by herself!

Kiggster's 1st Nail Painting

When Kiggster paints anything, she gets super concentrated and has this ultra-pouty look.  So cute what she does with her fingers together, putting up her pinky when she's painting and drinking!  She actually did a really great job for her first time even though she still got it all around her fingers.  She was so proud of herself that she was going around telling everyone about it.  She would hold out the hand she painted and say, "I painted all by self!"

What's your favorite polish?  Also, don't forget to let me know if you have any recommendations for good polishes for toddlers!
